The Roof Is Done

We are finally done. After three days of back breaking work Dave and I are done with Don's roof, The only positive was the weather was perfect for roofing. This pic the roof isn't fully done but close enough.

Halloween Party Yea

I don't no why adults pick one day a year to dress up like fools but we do? Our friends Mike & Lorraine had there annual costume party last night and we all attended, I didn't feel like dressing up, but you never want to be that one guy standing out like a sore thumb. It was a lot of fun, we got to catch up with a few friends we haven't seen in a while. Danielle was killing it in the games she got 3rd in the treasure hunt and Danielle and her mom Diane got 3rd in the costume contest. We had a lot of fun and I am sure we will due it again next year?

Moonlite Roofer

If you are reading this you might think I left Porters to become a roofer. Not. I am helping Dave due another friends roof. I think my quota is meet for the year, two in one month, It's not bad it gets me out of the office for a few days of manual labor.

California Love Tour Stop 7

This was an event Porters hosted this weekend, it was really cold so we ended the event when the sun went down. We were supposed to show a snowboard video in the parking lot but it was to cold so everyone packed up and headed off to dinner. The comet below is an email from our sales rep.

"Porters welcomed the Nor Cal Program Crew with snow flurries upon our arrival. This made for a bone numbing set up at Porter’s. Without our superior Special Blend and Four Square outerwear we might have been forced to wait for the storm to break. But like clock work, as soon as we finished setting up the storm began to break. Customers of Porters braved the still freezing temps to make some stand out tees. However, it was owner John Chapman that through down on the best tee of the day. The staff at Porters killed it on the sales floor that Saturday, reporting a nice increase in business over last year. Team riders Travis Kennedy, and Niko Cioffi, showed their support by hanging out and raping with all present. Four of our Tahoe area rep riders also made it out to help make the event all the more successful. Thank you again guys. After an all hands on deck break down we all headed to Sushi for lots of laughs and tons of sake and Sapporos. Thank you to the best waiter ever, John"

I have paper cuts

This has been my last few nights. Danielle got a little backed up on grading so I had to come to the rescue and help since grades are due tomorrow. I will be doing the same thing tonight. Fun

Fall Colors

As the seasons change so do the colors around Tahoe. I have been driving past this beautiful grove of trees for a few weeks and I finally stopped to snap a few pics. Having good scenery makes the drive a little easier.

Mt Rose Summit Hike

This has been a long time coming. Today we hike to the summit of Mt. Rose 10776 ft it was 11 miles and 2800 vert its one of the highest peaks in the Tahoe Basin. It was great to get back on the trail. It has been a early winter, so there was a little snow to deal with but nothing that stopped us. The weather couldn't of been better. You can see for hundreds of miles in all directions, you can see all the way to Mt. Lassen. It was a lot of fun and would do it again any day. The only bad news was we were hiking one woman down, my Aunt Ginger has been preparing all summer to do this hike and she unfortunately hurt her leg this week. If it feels better in the next few weeks I am going to do it again with her.

Boreal Jibfest

Saturday Night Boreal had enough snow to due little Rail Jam Contest, they also had a movie premier on there outdoor screen. We are one of the sponsors of the event so we set up a tent and did a raffle for free stuff all we wanted was a name and email address in exchange. It was a great success and a lot of fun.

Danielle's G Wagon

Sorry for the long delay in post, our lives have been super busy the last few weeks, Since the last post we sold Danielle's car quick, in most cases that would be good but we didn't get here new car for two weeks. Needless to say we car pulled or I drove a work van for two weeks it sucked. Here is a pick of here Subaru Legacy Limited the picture sucks because it was getting dark.

It's a Bird, it's a Plane, no, it's a Bear Hanging from a Bridge (??)

This happened a few weeks ago, but for whatever reason, pictures are just showing up about this strange occurrence. A bear was walking on the Old Hwy 40 Bridge in Truckee when two cars were coming from either direction honked at him. This freaked him out and he jumped right over the side of the bridge. (This bridge connects two mountains!) Anyway, somehow the bear ended up hanging on for dear life on the side of the bridge. He pulled himself up to the beam and stayed there overnight. In the morning, the Bear League and Animal Control placed a net under the bridge and shot him with a tranquilizer dart. He fell into the net and eventually when lowered walked off unharmed. What a crazy story!
