Blowin' and Snowin'

Today was a wild one on the hill, lucky we went yesterday. We wanted to go ride again today but it was really windy and dumping all day, winds were 100mhp on the ridges and most lifts were on wind hold all day. It's was probably good it gave us time to do some things around the house. Off to Vegas tomorrow thru Friday, I am going to SIA a huge trade show were I look at all of 09 Snow products. It's a ton of fun but I am getting tiered of Vegas been there one to many times.

Drunk Dancing

Look at what drinking heavly for hours does to you. Kids this should be a lesson not to drink.

Porters Party

Here is a little clip of Wednesday night. Funny

Danielle log rides

Danielle rides a log at Alpine. She was killing it today.

Come one, come all - there's enough POW to go around

Well, for the last week, the snow has been falling on a consistent basis. Several inches every single day adds to a lot of frustration on the roads, but leads to pure bliss on the hill. Today, Danielle and I headed out nice and early to Alpine to get fresh tracks. It was the first day in at least a week that the sun came out. Perfect conditions led to a perfect day on the hill. Oh yeah, check out the video of the log that Danielle just had to slide.

Wigs or 'Staches Required to PARTY!

Since Porters is slammed during the Holidays, we always wait until mid-January to have our winter party. This year's theme was wigs and moustaches. The location was perfect, the 50/50 Brewery in Truckee. There was plenty of drinking, dancing, and just all around good company. The pics say it all...enjoy. If you want to see more pics, just check out this link: http://www.porterstahoe.com/news/012408-party.asp there is about 150 more to see!

Looking at Burton '09

After visiting with my family, I was off to Oakland to look at 2009 Burton product. I know...2009 product already...weird. Anyway, this showroom is a snowboarder's dream house. It house everything you can imagine, right down to a conveyor belt board system and a tricked out sound system. It took about three hours to check everything out and then I was on the road again. I stopped off in Sacramento to have dinner with my friends Brett and Macy from high school. It was nice to catch up with them and hang out. After dinner, I was on my way back to Reno.

Down In San Jose

Today I had to drive down to the bay for work, not bad since I got to see family and friends. Went out to dinner with may dad, sis, brother, Stephine, CC, Granny and Danny we ate at the Macaroni grill which is always great. Then off to my dads to play some Nintendo Wii it was a lot of fun I beat John's as in boxing it's all about the stamina, stick and move baby.

A blur

The last few weeks have been super busy at work. I am starting to buy Winter product for the 09 season so I have spent most days looking at ski and snowboard product. Sounds fun but it gets boring after awhile. I've got another 45 days until all of my orders are due. We managed to get one day of riding in at Alpine on Sunday and a few nights at the climbing gym were having a lot of fun learning to climb.

Another new camera

Well it's only been 7 months since I got my last camera and I just got another new one. My last camera got dust inside the lens and was causing halos in my pictures, I brought it to Bestbuy and they told me just to get a new camera in the same price range. Most people would be happy but Canon didn't make the same camera anymore so I got a better model, but my underwater housing won't work, so know I need to sell it.

Dude, where's my car?

Sure would hate to be this guy... Anyway, here are some pictures of what we woke up to this morning. Another round of snow blowing. According to the forecast, we are in for another round of snow tonight. So far totals around 7000 feet are around 4 feet. Let's hope this is not the last of it.

Snow, snow, and more snow!

The snow is finally here. After all the hype, I think that this storm is all it is cracked up to be. A rare blizzard warning was issued for the Tahoe area. As of right now, I-80 is closed from Applegate to the Nevada State Line and it looks like it might be that way for awhile. In the last three hours, we have received about 8 inches at our house. I just got back in from snow blowing and I might have to head our again soon if this rate keeps up. Stay tuned...

Giving Blood...

Finally a day to sleep in! Based on the forecast, we made the wise decision to not head to work in Truckee today. Instead, we slept in (yeah!) and then went to donate blood at the "All Reno Radio Blood Drive". When we arrived they were having a raffle for all of the donors and Danielle won two free buffet meals. Danielle and I did our good deed and gave blood. Danielle has donated before, but this was my first time. After we were done, I started feeling really dizzy and lightheaded and they made me lay back down and drink a whole bunch of orange juice and eat a few cookies. How embarrassing. Oh well, at least it happened after I donated and not during!
