Tent sale madness

Last week and this upcoming weekend is tent sale madness at Porters. Last weekend we had our annual tent sale in our Incline store and it was very successful but a lot of work. This weekend we are doing it in our Truckee store, this is the last sale we are doing for a few months. Porters is doing a sale early November in San Francisco? More info on this to follow, I think it's called the San Francisco Ski and Snowboard Festival.

After labor day I should get back to my normal life and make some posts more often.

Hopefully

Jason's Birthday Weekend Extravaganza

Jason's birthday weekend started out in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday. After playing two softball games and getting home around midnight, we got up in the morning and hurried off to Tahoe City to meet Aaron, Christina, and Chappy around 8 am. We grabbed some grub at Syd's Bagels and jumped on Chappy's boat to do some wake surfing. Tahoe was gorgeous. The weather was warm and the winds calm. Aaron, Christina, and Chappy surfed first because the boat was setup for the goofy stance. Next, it was Jason's turn followed by me. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I am typing this (Danielle) not Jason! Anyway, Jason had a great time surfing showing off his skills! After my attempt at surfing we cruised over to Chamber's Landing where we did some birthday tequila shots and drank a few Chamber's punches (rum drinks). Next we grabbed some more grub and then motored over the Meek's Bay for a nice swimming session. After cooling off in the water we took a tour of Emerald Bay. On the way back to Tahoe City we stopped on last time to cool off in the water since we had to turn around and pick up Chappy who had jumped ship. After arriving back on land, we thanked Chappy for the wonderful day and headed down the the Fat Cat Deli for dinner. We were all feeling pretty fried or as Aaron said "like a baked potato" from the day of intense sun, but we wouldn't let that stop us. We made a quick stop at Safeway and drove to Watson's Lake for a night of camping. The moon was incredibly bright, which kept us from viewing the meteor shower. Waking up to the sun in the morning, we packed up and went for a little off-road adventure. What we thought was the way back to Tahoe City, ended up being a logging road that turned into a sketchy downhill rocky ride. We finally turned around and headed back to the previous turn off which was the correct way to Tahoe City. It was about an hour detour, but fun nonetheless. After grabbing breakfast at the Dam Cafe, we said goodbye to Aaron and Christina and headed back down the hill to Reno. Jason, I hope you had a terrific birthday!!!!!

Softball, Softball and More Softball

Wow we have been playing a lot of Softball this summer. Danielle is playing 3-4 nights a week and I am playing twice a week. It's a lot of fun or leauges range from drunks pitcing to there own team to top level competitive teams. At least playing keeps us off the couch, but it makes it hard to have dinner at home.

Floating Down The River

Brett and Macy came from Roseville Saturday Morning. We met at the Porters Truckee store then we head to Tahoe City to go floating down the Truckee River, we parked one car at River Ranch the head out to Tahoe City were we jumped in the river. No matter what time of year the water is always cold, it is usually refreshing when its hot but it was really windy so it made it a little chilly. We had a great time no matter how the weather was, Bret's legs got a little fried but other than that we all made it down safe. After the float we had a great lunch at the Bridge tender, then head home to get ready to go out for Hot August Nights.

We head to the Grand Sierra Resort at about 7 which made it tough to find a parking spot it was packed, we ended up parking on the dirt on the on ramp of the freeway, I know it sounds crazy but everyone was parking were every they would fit. There was a cruise going around the hotel and a car show in the parking lot so there was plenty of cars to see, Danielle always lows the small cars. After we saw most of the rides we head inside and went to the wine bar, it is really cool they probably have 60 different wines in a vending machines its really cool, you put money on this gift card then head to all the machines and get 1-5oz of wine they tasted about 10 difrent wines each. After a little wine we head out to race some go carts. Doesn't sound like a good idea heading out on the track with with people that have been drinking, ah that makes it more fun. Danielle kicked or buts, I am getting tired of eating her exhaust fumes, next time she is starting in the back. We had a lot of fun Saturday and were beat.

Brett and Macy head out early Sunday to get back home to there dogs, we had a lot of fun and are glad they came out.
