The Roof Was On Fire

The last four days were spent roofing a friends house with my father in law Dave. We started with the prep work on Thursday with perfect weather, through out Friday the weather turned from nice to ugly, it started to get cold and windy. As we awoke Saturday morning the roofs all had snow on them, not a good combination for roofing a house. Need lees to say we had to waste half the day waiting for the snow to melt off. In the end we finished the roof Sunday afternoon, it came out perfect. Not a bad way to spend a weekend. I want to apologize to Dave for my extra stinky farts, I had to catch him from falling off the roof, after a few of my bombs. Ha Ha. Sorry.

Rainy Weekend

This weekend forced us to hang around the house and do some house cleaning. The weather was crappy it rained on and off all weekend. We went to the movies and watched UFC 76. The summer is definitely winding down, get outside and enjoy it why you still can.

First Snow

Last night was the first snow of the year. Hopefully this is the first of many storms to come. We need the snowpack to fill up our lakes and get the ski resorts open.

Porters Crew Surfing In Lake Oroville

We finally took a break from our busy work schedules and a few of the Porters crew went to the Chapman's House for some well deserved rest and a lot of surfing on the Lake. It was a great time had buy all. To bad it was so short. The Chapman's have a beautiful house that they built in 1976 it's on seven acre's of land, not bad if you want some privacy. Thanks again to all but back to work it is.

Our Newest Family Member

Danielle has been wanting this for a long time. I finally gave in. It is not what you think. Ha ha. Danielle is not pregnant. We got another cat! Leo joined our family today. He is a 6 month old brown tabby. Danielle picked him up from the Humane Society. Chip and Boots are not too sure whether they like him yet, but that will all come in time. Now we can officially call our house a 3-ring circus.

Santa Cruz

I left my house at six fifteen in the morning yesterday, for a long drive down to Santa Cruz for a trade Show. I picked up an old coworker that now works at Snowind. We had a nice drive not much traffic and a lot of catching up. It took us about four and a half hours to get there. After the show I had about an hour till Lonnie was done so I got to hang out on the beach, the weather was perfect. After the show I brought Lonnie to the airport so she could catch a flight home.

I stayed the night at my dad's and got to see my Brother and Sis. We went to dinner at my favorite Mexican Restaurant La Milpa yummy it was good. On the way back to my dad's we stopped by Danielle's parents Dave and Diane to say hi. It was great to see them.

The next morning I dropped Ginger off at school, then off two 24 Hr Fitness for a workout. John and I went to breakfast at Denny's then off to My Grandma Margret's. It was great seeing her I don't get by as often as I should. Got home around five, it was a busy two days.

Also sorry there is know pictures, I brought my camera and when I was at the beach, I tryed to take a pic but it didn't work? I left the battery in the charger at home. What a bone head move. Use your imagination this time.

Back on The Horse

Well not really, but back on the bike. It has been a few months since I last rode my bike to work. With my schedule being so crazy I have left the bike in the garage, I am finally getting back to my office so I am going to try and ride my bike as much as I can before it gets cold.

Again this morning the Hot Air Balloons were buzzing the neighborhood. It's cool to watch them buzz by the tops of houses.

Hot Air Ballon almost landed on a house

As I opened my garage this morning there was a hot air balloon about 50 yards from my house, I ran in and grabbed my camera, took a few pics then off to work. I drove the way it was landing it ended up landing just up the street from my house, it buzzed a few houses and got all the dogs in the neighborhood barking. This weekend is The Great Reno Balloon Races it is a lot of fun to watch hundreds of balloons take off at once. It is something I would recommend for everyone to see at least once.

Happy B-Day Aunt Ginger

Last night we went out for my Aunt's birthday to Claim Jumpers. My Grandpa Don is in town so we went out with him, Grandma Thelma and Ginger and Janet. It was great to see them all, I don't get to see my Grandpa very often.

Burning Man Junk Shows

Every year a week before and a week after Labor day all the crazy cars/art work roll through town on there way to Burning Man. Some are hoopties that can barley go 45 on the freeway and others are crazy pieces of art that most of took a lot of time to build. As crazy as it seems I would like to go and check it out some day. It's something I would do once just to say I've been there then never again.
